My guess is they really don't give a crap about what's going on, they just want an excuse to act like idiots without penalty. These movement will never go anywhere, just like Occupy Wallstreet. As soon as you get violent protesters, no politician will openly support them. That is why the Tea Party succeeded, while the Occupy Movement was an utter failure.

Any ability I have to empathize with the protesters in Oakland/Berkeley toward "the cause" is completely lost on me when I see innocent people/businesses becoming victims of vandalism and destruction.

Way to go, idiot thugs!

Yup!

As much as I detest most of the ideas of the Tea Party, they were peaceful and now they control 1/3 of Congress.

There has been much more dialogue around income inequality and raising the minimum wage since the occupy movement, so maybe it wasn't quite an utter failure.

Tea Party was successful because of the money that backed it.
