I know that google earth blurs out peoples faces and special government buildings, but a seemingly random row home? kinda suspicious to me. your thoughts?

I have heard that you can have things "removed" from Google Earth if you request it. I would say whomever owned the house didn't want to be on Google Earth and somehow got their entire property blurred. Which, if I lived nearby, would be cause for me to want to go check the place out even more for the sheer curiosity of what they must be hiding. Honestly, some people don't get that the sheer act of trying to retain their privacy can, in the end, draw even more attention to themselves.

Octavia is a beautiful street! Full of old Victorians, as you can see. SF is a great walking city.

New headquarters for Church of Satan, or Temple of Set? They get a bit jittery over public scrutiny, ya know. Probably don't want to be as showy as when Anton had the old Black House in SF.

Octavia St. also has a section of street that's still SF's original brick surface. There are very few of those left in the city. See photo in link below:

In a place that dense, blurring seems like a waste of time unless they had something private showing in a window, etc. You can get different views on different sites.

My biggest gripe with the "New" Google Maps is that the satellite imagery has a painted cartoon look to enable 3-D rendering. You can't seem to turn that off unless you revert to Classic Google Maps, which keeps getting lost as a setting. I'd rather see crisp imagery than 3-D scrolling effects. Google Earth view doesn't need to be the default in a browser.

Anybody can get their building blurred on Google just by asking them. You don't have to give a reason.

Damn! Did you see that? A large-ish street parking space in SF on Octavia during the day!
