Having spent the first few decades of my life in Socal and the last 5 or so in Bay Area, I can say that Santa Ana wind conditions are not as common here. Maybe I haven't been here long enough, but I've also never the heard term "Diablo Winds" that another poster mentioned. Certainly winds do come up, but I can't recall off hand back to back days of warm autumn winds that are a stalwart in the LA area.

Diablo Winds are not as prominent, but they are a thing. They aren't as frequent or often aren't as strong, because Mt. Diablo stands relatively alone, versus the tighter ridge of mountains that whip up the Santa Ana Winds.

Both owe their existence to the same factors--hot, dry air to the east being churned up by convection currents ad blowing up and over the peaks down to the coast, when temps and conditions are right.
