Both cities were at mid 20%'s Asians according to the census in 2010. I would be willing to bet they are somewhere in the mid to upper 30%'s if not more now 5 years later.
I've noticed that as well but for some reason not as much in Walnut Creek and Danville.

I mean I live in Dublin and I haven't noticed that much Asian growth.

I lived on the east side of Dublin for a few years and the change was pretty big. I think Fallon Middle School went from somewhere around 45% Asian in 2010 to closer to 60% now. A handful of new Asian restaurants opened up as well (such as Little Sheep Hot Pot and Mayflower. IIRC Shanghai Dumpling Factory was planning a location but I don't know where that plan is now). The Indian community is growing especially fast- particularly in neighborhoods like Positano and Jordan Ranch.

That area was mostly rural a decade ago even. Even if suburban overdevelopment is driven by US born it's still a terrible thing but mass immigration especially the H1bs are wrecking the quality of life.

I can't imagine how someone else is "wrecking" your quality of life no matter where the heck they were born. My husband wasn't born in the US. I'd like to know how exactly he is wrecking your life. He makes my life pretty damn great!

Sounds more like an issue with you and yours.

There is a very limited amount of space in the Bay Area. When you add millions of new people you increase the demand to build suburbs over open space.

Obviously there's tons of space to build in Pleasanton/Livermore/Dublin or there wouldn't be anyplace build those houses.

So again, what difference does it make where they were born?

There's really not. Part of those areas still feel rural but if you continue to build they will look like Orange County. Adding new people increases the population and demand. While Euro Americans and Assimilated Asian Americans are starting to prefer older areas with more character H1bs from South Asia seem to flock to these ugly track homes that are going up in East Dublin.

This is a fact. It happens in Pleasanton as well. While I will add "not that there's anything wrong with that" it's not something you can pretend not to notice! LOL!

And in Southern CA you have the same thing with Chinese in Irvine and Iranians in Calabasas.
