I can see how, if someone likes Napa, living at least within view-shot of the lake would be nice. You can buy lots that have a lake view, but are close to Napa amenities.

Berryessa is noticeably hotter than Napa. And I agree Berryessa may be ok for a day trip but it would be a creepy place to live- ugh I can't think of a single reason to buy a home there. I don't like Lake County either but if I had to choose between Berryessa and Lake County I would choose the latter.

Ha! But every city/town has had murders and serious crimes committed within its borders. You’d have to turn into a hermit to avoid ever becoming weirded out by being in an area where bad things have happened.

I live in the N West part of Lake County and love it, it is so diversified. We have mountain ranges valleys farmland and lots of horse trails. I live on a 12 acre walnut ranch. Blue Lakes and Lake Mendocino are close. Views of Mt Konocti and the surrounding beauty.
The city of Clearlake is one of the most ten most dangerous cities in California. I used to live out of Lower Lake but had to go to Clearlake to shop. I'm so glad I live on this side of the lake.
I used to work at a goldmine in between LL and Berryessa and the urban legend was the Zodiac live in one of the caves.

Lake County and Clear Lake are beautiful! Much more scenic than Berryessa, IMO. But it's HOT up there in the summers! How did the county do in the last fire season? No major problems?
