I've lived in the Bay Area my entire life and worked in SF for several years but I never wanted to live in the city. For me it just seems like daily chores would be more of a chore. I suppose it's just a different way of living but not the way I personally want to live. I'm a BART ride away.

I just visited LA, and now SF is next on my list. I've lived on the west coast my entire life and never spent any extended length of time in either city.

On a personal level, being from Central Oregon and having like 300+ days of sunshine, I'd lean more towards LA. But I have friends who moved to San Francisco and love it.

I think the cities on the west coast should concentrate more on what makes them unique rather than these petty pissing contests. You see Seattlites slamming Portlanders, San Franciscans slamming Seattlites, and Angelenos bashing San Franciscans. Different strokes for different folks, the west coast culture is unique (especially compared to the east coast) so that's what should be celebrated!

Still, that's hardly "mid-6 figures". It's annoying when people exaggerate/lie.

I have lived in many cities and they didn't nearly have the level of homeless people as SF did.

Then you haven't lived in any of the top ten cities for homelessness. Because SF doesn't rank in the top ten either.

Nor, apparently, have you lived in any cities that have year around survivable weather such as that in San Francisco.
