What's the best place to get these? For MLS, I would love to find a complete database of homes that allows me to sort by date listed and zip. I have found so many, but none are really what I want (either don't include many properties, no date listed, etc.)
For REOs, I have no idea where to find these.
thx.

REO's are going to be listed in the local MLS listings, if the agent involved decides to call out it's a REO you would be able to read that in the description.

My own MLS doesn't even give me the option to sort by date listed. Days on the market (DOM) is generally withheld from the public views in MLS listings.

As much as I dislike Realtor.com, that's probably going to be your best source for zip code sorting. Most real estate companies embed their MLS in their own websites. If they don't, run very fast away from them. If you have zeroed in on a zip code, find yourself a Realtor to help you, their service is going to be free to you and they could tell you things like DOM numbers.

Good luck!

This is far superior to Realtor.com IMHO...

Have you tried ziprealty? They list how many days on the market and if the price has been lowered.

What's interesting when you browse the SF listings on MLS, is how many of the houses are empty and staged...apparently by the same company since all the furniture is nearly identical and apparently, by City ordinance, a French advertising poster reproduction must be on dining room wall...but only 1 of 3 choices. Unless of course everyone in SF has exactly the same tastes in home furnishing and artwork. I guess that's possible.
