I admit it makes me happy. It's the wind that makes it challenging. I tried walking 6 blocks in it today and had to use my umbrella in front of me like a shield because the rain was blowing sideways right into my face LOL.
ugh wind sucks..I got my fill of the wind in Reno. Are you still going to move, I think you were talking about Santa Rosa?

Not sure. I'm torn. There's a lot I love about living here. I'm thinking I'll give it another year and see if some traveling gives me the balance I'm looking for. There's just no perfect place.

Oh my word, if I see another overblown news article on the "Super El Nino" and the impending floods of biblical proportions, I will climb into my own boat and head for the high seas. I have a sneaking suspicion , the El Nino that is too big to fail, has slept it in and would need to get busy real soon.

We are at only .26in total precipitation for the month so far. Average total precipitation for the month of Dec. is approx 4.7in. There will need to be some pretty heavy rains from now until the end of Dec. to even get to average.
All in all I will laugh for sure if by the end of it all, we find that "Super El Nino" was nothing more than a chance for some over dramatic, smiley , oh so "wholesome" weather men and women who in all truthfulness can never make any real accurate weather predictions.

My predictions for total precipitation in the month of Dec. will be somewhere in the region of 2in - 3in or less.

One problem I see is that we have very little experience with ENSO during a time of overall Negative PDO. I know the "spot" PDO shows positive, but the "mean" PDO since about '99 or so is negative. My own suspicion is Negative PDO damps ENSO considerably. Beyond all that, Solar Flux is anemic. We are barely beginning to comprehend the interactions of Solar Flux, Galactic Cosmic Radiation Flux and cloud dynamics (or lack thereof) at any given part of Earth's surface.

Yeah it was pretty disappointing, people are going to stop paying attention if they keep overhyping every storm.

KTVU did not predict rain all day. They predicted morning rush-hour rain, dry by 10am, and an afternoon shower during the commute. That's just what we got, at least where I live. Who predicted rain all day?

More data that show that previous El Ninos had a much stronger showing by this point...starting to worry.

Where are you getting your weather forecast? None of the apps I check predicted rain all day. It sprinkled in the morning, and it sprinkled again later in the afternoon. We had rain overnight, and then it rained some this afternoon. I read an article last night saying the major rain will be coming in Jan & Feb. Patience grasshopper.
