This was a topic of conversation with some of my co-workers this morning. I was commenting how someone just got their home trashed in the Marina a few weeks back and how they were suing Air B&B. One of my buddies had someone that was considering coming from Denver but saw the prices of hotels and airfare and said forget it. I told her that would be the only type of situation I would consider (a friend that could vouch for someone and then the two of you work out a reasonable price). The problem with the Air B&B situation as opposed to the VRBO is that you typically still have all your stuff in your house (as opposed to a home that is designed to be a rental..so none of your furniture or things are in it). With that said, for those that want to take the gamble, my understanding is you could make about $5K for four days.
I also had to laugh at this article in SFGate this morning. Man, when these people find out where these hotels are at, I'm thinking they're not going to be too pleased.
