There used to be some sort of gold recycling business advertisements on the radio asking for dental gold collected from deceased people. I thought that was disgusting. Can you imagine gold jewelry, such as a wedding ring, made of gold recycled from the mouths of corpses?

Guarantee you theyre talking about grills but using that term doesnt match the chrons style policies. Or political correctness. Either way the location, time none of it shocks me. Its SF. The guy could have been lying there on the ground with dudes with pliers over him and the average sf resident or tourist would walk right by. Got to get to blue bottle coffee!

I assumed it was a passer-by who called the police. I doubt people on the street were completely passive about it.

Yeah, I'm thinking what it was is one of those gold grills. Those are slip-on type of things just like a ring, necklace, etc.

Has there been any more news about this? I suspect it was reported in the paper simply for its sensationalist value, and that there's no intent to follow up. But it would be nice to know if they were able to review tapes from surveillance cameras, to try to catch the perp. Maybe the police doesn't care, maybe they have more important things to do.....
