I need to park and take BART around 9am on a weekday in a few days. I understand parking at the Fremont station is pretty much impossible around this time. I'm wondering how far up the line I'd have to drive to find a station where parking availability is pretty much guaranteed - Union City, South Hayward, further? The last thing I want to do is circle the lot endlessly only to give up and head back to the freeway...

Union City BART (the city parking lots) have open spots open all day and midday.

I would just use single day reserved parking in the situation you described:

https://www.select-a-spot.com/

You can reserve a space using the system described, and then you take one of the spaces in the monthly pass area (which shouldn't be a problem even at 9AM). You pay a premium ($6 instead of the $3 daily rate) but it is worth it for a one time thing. You have to print the pass and put it in your windshield.

You should be able to do this at Fremont, Union City, station. I doubt any of them have full monthly reserved parking spaces. At least, I've never had a problem with this approach at Union City station.

In case it's not completely clear, that's the city lots on the other side of the tracks from the BART station. Signage isn't exactly the best and BART goes out of its way to not inform anyone of parking options even better than they do at not providing adequate parking They're in the process of building a pedestrian bridge and second entrance but for now it's a bit of a walk. Factor that in as it is half a mile or so as you've got to go the long way around.

Thanks. I just tried to use the Select-a-Spot system but apparently you can't use it without inputting your vehicle information (make, model, license #). I'll be using a company car and there's no way to know exactly which car I'll get until they day of, so this won't work.

I'll take my chances with the city lot at Union City.
