I ask this specifically about SF because median price for a house in SF is over ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Obviously it is best to own land , but it is not realistically possible for most folks in SF.

I want to own a condo so that i wouldn't have to move every few years or so (when landlords move or raise rent too much), and i get the stability of owning. But is it worth it? I hear about the hassles of condos, and it is clear that is probably not worth for most parts of the nation, but in SF, where owning land is so expensive, are condos worth it?

No. Because it's just glorified renting with all the bylaws.

yeah but you could get a studio for about 200k in an okay neighborhood. Versus more than 300k for the cheapest single home in SF:

LOL, you are just F'n around. You must not live anywhere near SF to ask such a, frankly, stupid question. For your sake, I hope you are 10 years old.

OH NO! Not this topic again! Just wait until people start showing up telling you that you can pay $100 for rent by living with room mates and relatives in someone's basement. Or that you should be able to afford a million dollars on a $100K salary.
