https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brickell

Brickell is a place in Miami where they took an area of run down single family homes and turned it into an area of massive density. What Bay Area cities do you see as a potential Brickell. Most likely either Emeryvile or Foster City.

I second Emeryville.

Also: 90% of the rest of Oakland. Some of it is actually nice now, but most isn't and that's some prime real estate as far as location goes.

I don't think building luxury high rises will solve the housing crisis, especially in an area like Foster City built on reclaimed land.

I think most of the Peninsula and South Bay should be turned into Manhattan to accommodate all the workers who need to live close to their jobs so that they can all take public transit and relieve the automobile congestion on our highways.

Yep, it won't do a damn thing, and I agree with the post you put up about a week ago regarding the redundancy of threads on this forum. On an ongoing basis, it just gets multiple threads on high density housing, cost of living, and getting ready to move here threads. Regardless if people agree or disagree, the moderator could simply put a sticky of these 3 topics and have people reply there. I'm amazed at the obsession of some people on the first two items in particular. You'd drive yourself crazy worrying about that stuff 24/7. If it bothers people so much, I simply don't understand why they don't just move away. Clearly there are positives to the area that make it such a desirable place to be. I would encourage those that seem to always looking at the glass half empty, to realize that it's also half full with a lot of good things. And I'm enjoying one of them right now...looking at the beautiful skyline of the city on a beautiful morning.

You all need to spend some time in Brickell... there's been an overall lack of planning which has turned traffic into gridlock. Admittedly, the area has a lot of bridges which definitely doesn't help, but at least we have bay views.

Brickell is similar to Mission Bay

Yes, for those who can afford it or don't have a 2+ hour commute each way. That's not the case with a lot of people. Some people only view things from their own little world and don't see things from other's perspectives.

Nothing wrong with finding the good things in life and enjoying them.
