And right on the other side of Van Ness, you have Capp Street.. something you will see often laying in the gutter..

Based on the two answers given so far, people don't understand the meaning of 'ironic'.

Here's an answer that meets the criteria : Haight Street, which was ground zero for the 'summer of love'. ('Haight' is pronounced 'hate'.)

Well, in their defense, "least fortuitous" was also an option.

Sunset Blvd ... as if you'd see very many sunsets from it ( at least this is true in the summer ... it's a different story fall through spring, I admit there are many good sunsets during the non-fog season).

It's the name for the neighborhood. It came from a World's Fair that was held at Golden Gate Park in 1894, which was nicknamed "Sunset City" because of its spectacular nighttime light show.

Interesting - I always assumed the district was named that because of its westerly location in SF (and due to the fact that the sun sets in the west...). I learned something new today!
