I moved to Oakland relatively recently, and I need to find a new place to live. I currently live in a room/ residence hall on Grand by the Lake, and I work in Jack London Square. I don't have a car, so I bike and take the bus. I go to Laney college, and I don't have a very flexible budget. The place I'm staying in now is fine but its definitely not worth what I'm paying. Im honestly fine living in a warehouse if its cheap, I just need suggestions. I'm good with roommates and I know I probably won't be able to afford my own place for a while. The room doesn't need to be in downtown, just not too far away, because of the transportation issue. Don't suggest craigslist or any of those other websites because i have been patrolling those for weeks now, which brings me here. Thank you for your help in advance.

Yours,

A broke, desperate and warehouse willing college student

Look on craigslist dude. Sharing a room is 500, and a room to yourself is typically 800-1000 or more.

SF bay area rooms for rent & shares available - craigslist

Don't suggest craigslist lol I just read that. Well, that's where people find rooms.

Craigslist unless you have great credit, big down payment and solid income history and also check out your college's facebook page. My GF used to attend SFSU and the best way to find a room to rent was through their facebook page.
