Where did you get that idea... not talking canoes here.

Not everyplace is Atherton or Hillsborough you know.

Us peasants do just fine in the East Bay and like it.

Let's see boat is what, 50g? A house is what? 600g in an okay neighborhood on the east bay?

And yet, people that were saving in 2003-2004 did exceptionally well. Yes, two can play this silly, nonsensical game.

You know my neighborhood is not OK as you have said... I've posted pictures of my first house... 25x100 lot in East Oakland two blocks below East 14th...

My point is my friend when into debt for a tricked out brand new professional ski boat and I bought a shack that was going to be condemned...

I still own that home and his boat is long gone... got pennies on the dollar when he sold it... but he sure did love owning it the first year until the new model came out.

What a dumb statement. So anyone who has worked hard, saved money and bought a place is "a dumb snob, who got theirs" You went two posts before reverting back to your trolling self.

Don't forget the "born at the right time lottery". Yep, one ridiculous comment after the other.

You're saying that someone who could save 6 months in order to come up with a 2g downpayment for a 10g house in Palo Alto in 1963 wasn't lucky?

Yawn.

I'm sorry. As much as people on this board would like it, you don't get to live in 2016 and pay 1970 prices. Life doesn't work that way. And all the cherry picking in the world won't make it so. But have fun with it. Heck, there are people on this born saying those that lived in 2010 were born at the right time lottery. Just more nonsense and not even worth the argument. I get bored with the trolling (and have been for quite some time).

My advice is to find the next Palo Alto and stake a claim...

In a way that is what I did buying in Oakland against all the advice offered.

Even adjusted for inflation it's still something like 100g.
