Well, I guess that's one option.

Good for her... she could probably pump out a few babies and be taken care of for life by the welfare system

That's lame. All she had to do was move in to a place with more roommates.

hmm just read the article in depth. It appears that the main problem she has is that she doesn't have a full time job. If she has a BS though, I'm sure she'll get one. Maybe she needs to cast a wider net in terms of the nature of jobs for which she applies.

It's probably a lot funner to be homeless by choice than by circumstance. She was basically going on an extended camping trip while still having a good job and money for food and the necessities. Not really newsworthy in any way. I went camping a lot as a kid no one ever thought it was news worthy then.

As usual, your comment shows you know zero about how the welfare system works. For example, there are time limits to how many years anyone can receive assistance - hint: it's not for life ... just a few years - and during the time one might qualify (and the qualifying process is far more complex than you think) the recipients have to conform to a variety of commitments targeting their future off welfare. And, all said, the amount received on average isn't enough to live a lifestyle over poverty level.

Such an inviting plan!

bmw, you are incredibly misinformed on nearly every topic you post about. Yet you won't bother to educate yourself before you bang away on your keyboard only to be humiliated by persons responding with facts. Doesn't bother you, huh.

Homeless because she's living on her boyfriend's boat in the SF Bay? Wow, I feel so sorry for her.

And where were they camping at a legal campground within commuting distance to SF? No such thing.

I love how she describes her homeless life as camping with her boyfriend while grilling salmon.

Heck, I'm not homeless and I can't afford salmon.

Another misleading title.

In reality, for her to equate her situation with being homeless, is an insult to real homeless people. I thought she would have been sleeping on the streets or something.

That's not exactly what many would call "homeless".
