Then he shouldn't have titled his thread "in bay area", rather than "SF". And why wouldn't he move to warmer, yet affordable, parts of the Bay? Maybe he'll return to the thread and tell us more about where he's at with that. Maybe he doesn't want to deal with East Bay traffic, but Marin and SC Co., his preferred locations, also have a lot of traffic.

I don't waste my time with it as some people are always looking to start an argument despite all proof to the contrary.

Of course you can always move to places like Hot-lanta, Austin, Houston, Jacksonville, or Orlando (all areas known for hot weather) and enjoy even more fog

This chart only goes through 1990, but as you compare 2014-2015, you'll see what I'm talking about by the chart below (and 2016 has been even better.....yeah, the last three years have kicked ass and it's similar to the peaks between 1985-2000)

The topic isn't really debatable. The proof is there for those that don't have blinders on.

You won't get three nicer years in this area than the last three we've had and we have a warming trend going on. If it's not warm enough for some than clearly this isn't the place for you.

Forecast for rest of September- 17 out of 24 days over 70 and only one day without sunshine. Rock on!
SF has micro climates.....you will find more cool, overcast, weather days in the western neighborhoods, compared to downtown. I believe Protero Hill neighborhood gets the most sunny days

it's actually the Mission, but anywhere along SE SF will be better than on the western side.

That's what gave rise to the questions. Still need the OP to explain why he hasn't moved to a warmer area around the Bay, if he has a problem with SF. Why pay SF rents if you don't have to? More info needed from the OP. Maybe he's living with his parents.

Maybe you should actually read the OP's posts, you know like the one just 2 posts up before you started bickering with sav?

I'm an ATL resident 10 years, lived in LA 18 yrs, driven in NYC for over 15 yrs and Chi town briefly so I know bad commutes,

I've worked in Anchorage, ATL, San Fran. Philly, Yes, SF has a lot of fun things to to do and beautiful things to see. Not for me to live in though.

You love SF, I love the ATL.
As for boogie-ing in traffic, I used to do that a couple years ago. Trust me, after a while you just want to get home and rest. The traffic here is mentally taxing. I can recall a number of times sitting in traffic when I wanted to cry from being so fed up, not to mention the many times I was late for prior engagements (despite leaving early) because of it.

It's easy to be so cheerful about the BA when you don't actually live here and haven't since the recent influx of people. High cost of living, horrible traffic, crowded public transit and sidewalks, dog-eat-dog work culture (although this one might just be my experience). The Bay Area has its merits, but daily life here can be exhausting.

Yep. Ruth lives in new mexico and clearly hasnt lived in the bay for quite some time. Her advice on matters bay area is very outdated and not helpful to folks living in 2016.

I wonder if it's the people "boogie-ing" in traffic that leave all those huge gaps further slowing traffic than it otherwise might be.... seriously people pay attention and drive.

How does the post you quoted answer questions about why the OP is living in a town with weather that doesn't agree with him, when there are better choices nearby?

As far as boogying in traffic, I was riffing in part on this inspirational post. I think b4life has the right idea, but then, it sounds like his commute is easier than some:

I never said Bay Area traffic is easy or pleasant. In fact, the first thing I said is that it's gotten weird, extreme. That has been the subject of more than one dedicated thread around here. But when faced with fighting that every day, in the absence of any alternative, one has to find a way to cope, so as not to live chronically stressed out.
