At the same time, seeing the neverending plethora of great homes for sale here at very reasonable prices( by Bay standards) makes it clear to me that until we build more in the inner Bay, it will get more and more expensive.
Yay, never thought I'd hear this from you, but I'm glad for some reason lol

Ok someone tell me where you can buy a cheap house in the USA in a metropolitan area with:

Economic engines comparable to the bay area's of tech ,biotech and finance

Adult educational attainment comparable to the San Francisco MSA (my data shows only NYC,Boston ,Seattle ,Washington, D.C.)

A housing market with an equal return( a $500k purchase 20 years ago in glen park, rockridge, noe valley now worth ~ $2 million or more)

Academic institutions of the level of Stanford and UC Berkeley ( rated in the top 5 or 10 internationally)

A comparable level of tolerance and acceptance

World class arts ,culture and entertainment (symphony ,opera,Michelin restaurants)

Give me an area comparable in ALL FACTORS with cheap housing. I don't think you can. Prove me wrong.

They don't seem to realize that the rest of the country is pretty open minded and accepting, especially talking about most major cities from Seattle to NYC to Fort Lauderdale/Miami to Portland to Austin etc.
There are states that pass laws to limit women's rights to abortion as guaranteed by the U.S Supreme Court

States that pass laws promote the teaching of creationism in public schools

States that pass laws to disenfranchise lgbt people.

States were government officials try to restrict the rights of Muslims to practice their religion as accorded in the bill of rights

these states are not bastions of tolerance and acceptance and State laws do affect cities. Not all places in the USA are like this but they are usually places with cheap housing

It's a pretty difficult process getting approved to adopt a child in general

Perhaps that might be for adoptions here, but my children were not born in the United States. Still, it was an arduous process.
