Finding a 1 bedroom apartment for under $2,000 in Daly City is very very unlikely for under $2,000/month. It might be possible to finding a dumpy in-law unit for that price but a real apartment will be much more even in Daly City.

For example Avalon Eaves is over $2700 a month for an older apartment with crammed parking.

For something nice in Daly City like 88 Hillside expect to pay $4,000/month for a 1,000 sq ft. 2 bedroom apartment.

It's certainly possible to get NEAR $2000/mo, if you don't need a huge or fancy place. Avalon, for example, has a lot of bells & whistles (like gym/pool) some folks aren't going to care about. I found a few around that price range on Craigslist, which look nice but might not fit everyone's standards... that budget would definitely limit your choices, though!
