Default My busy weekend

Some pictures from this weekend...

Highway 280 near Woodside - my brother (who was driving) got a speeding ticket about 2 minutes after the picture. Whoops!

20 minutes after that... this is why we say "if you don't like the weather, drive 5 miles."

Is that a UFO? I swear, it doesn't look like a plane....... LOL.

You people are right, Frisco, san fran, sucka free, and all that crop however you called it(san francisco) is a very beautiful place but there is a lot of things that tourist dont see like the poor and violence neigborhood , like bay view, mission district and much more, san francisco is one of the city in the U.S with a lot of homeless , but you right they dont show that, so people keep coming to visit and spend their money in the rich neighborhood. that is sad and sucks, if you tourist goes to those mentioned hood you will be harrased by the cops too.

I live in "the hood" (Bayview) and will happily post some pictures of that if you'd like... even this part of town is rather pretty. But every city has its bad neighborhoods, and SF's are much better than the hoods in some other cities. Anyway, off-topic!!

Wow, I've never been to California but my religion was founded in San Francisco.
I am getting a signing bonus from my work and I am thinking about using it to take a vacation in San Francisco. These pictures are awesome, I have to see the place.
As far as the "hood picture" with all the black guys, It looks like it could easily be a bunch of college students partying to me.

I recently visited San Francisco. I loved that city so much. I first went to Russian Hill where I stayed at my friends apt. Russian Hill was a nice yuppy neighborhood with a short walk to Fishermans Wharf which was a complete nightmare during the day. (Puke!)
The next day i went to Chinatown, Now the chinatown in SF blows away the Chinatown in New York by far. There is a certain realness to the SF Chinatown that the NY one has lost long ago. The SF Chinatown didn't seem to be so damn tourist dependant as NY's. Went to dinner at the popular tourist restaurant "Nan King's?" Great food, snappy service, lots of tourists.
On Friday we went to the Mission District on the boarder of the Castro I guess? The Mission reminded me of parts of Brooklyn, New York. Went to the Mission Delores! Absolutely beautiful! Then we walked up to Dolores Park and layed out in the sun and soaked up the amazing views of the city. Stayed at a friends house that night on Valencia and 14th.
The next day we rented a car and drove down to Santa Cruz for the weekend. 2 words Highway 1. The absolutely most beautiful drive I have ever had in my life. Santa Cruz was a lovely town, surfed Steamer lane. The food on the pier sucked though. I stopped for coffee in town at Peets, started telling my Girl Friend what a nice town this was sat down a bench and this guy started smoking Meth right next to me. So I guess it ain't perfect, but what are you gonna do.
Went back to SF the next day, the drive back was just as amazing, we stopped at beaches along the way.
On Monday we headed up to Point Reyes for a camping trip near the beach. Luckily my friend in Russian Hill is a novice camper and provided us with the proper equipment. The hike from the car was like 2 hrs. Thats pretty intense for a Brooklyn boy like me. But it was so worth it! Nobody around except for a couple of campers and empty pristine beaches. Nice to get away from the city.
On Wednesday we went to Rock Ridge and Fruitville, Oakland to visit a friend. Walked around the lake and talked. Took the Bart back to SF and checked out the transit museum. I'm a transit nerd so I was totally in my element.
Left the next evening on the BART to the airport.
The transportation in SF is almost as great as the transit system in NYC. The only thing we got better is 24 hr service.
Well now I'm back here in grimey, gritty, Disneyland New York and i can't wait to move to Oakland. (its all i can afford) Idealy I'd love to live in the Sunset near Ocean Beach.

^^Wow, sounds like you had fun. I've lived in the Bay Area my whole life and I would have to say you've done more than I have. I think a lot of people out here don't take advantage of all there is to see and do.
