So, how many is too many? Illegal means illegal, no " PC" interpretation.
Amazing how the Bracero Program worked in the 1950's. Seasonal workers received temporary work permits,
came north, worked the season, then went home. Today the overburdened hospitals, schools, prisons are the result of illegal immigration, DEPORT THEM ALL!

Give them a visa to come here. Make it about the same they pay the coyotes to come here (anywhere from 4-8k depending on where they come from).

Crack down on employers who hire ANY illegals. Tell any illegal that you will be deported if you don't have a visa AND banned forever. Ensure that any visa holder or illegals' children born here won't have US citizenship ever. No more anchor babies. Also no public benefits to any illegals or visa holders. Then if the illegals here or visa holders need public services, they'll have to pay for them. This will also force employers to raise wages for them and this might also bring more US workers/permanent residents back into the labor market for some of the jobs.

The income from visas would cover securing the border. The people who need cheap labor could have it legally and then close down all the other avenues to come here. Aggressively go after any employers hiring illegals and they won't take them in so less incentive to move here.

Also tax money going back to Mexico as well.

I really don't care what SF does. I own a single family 3- bed home in the outer Sunset and rent it. $3900 a month and with Prop 13 still in play the home is a cash cow.

Now, I like SF as much as the next person. The weather is mild and you don't need a care. But come on!

$3900 a month! Who in their right mind pays that?

A couple earning $250,000 a year.

It looks like Trump is making good on all his promises and in record time of any president. Will losing federal funds have an impact on SF's economy?

Inbreeding mentioned in your source is offensive and insulting.

City officials should respect the laws of the land and follow them.
That's what government officials are suppose to do anyways, right?
I don't see how SF city government can justify not adhering to federal immigration laws.
The supreme court already decided a long time ago that the federal government has exclusive power over making immigration laws.
City governments should stop acting like political drama queens and just adhere to our nation's laws! Is that too much to ask for?

Just like slavery used to be legal and officials in northern states should have returned escaped slaves. After all slavery was legal somewhere, amirite?
