We get lots of Traveling Nurses...

The pay in the Bay Area is quite good...

A good nurse with skills and willing to work can make a lot... several are working two jobs planning to buy homes soon...

Fresh Grads make about 90k and a lot more if they get on at a big Hospital... but that requires experience.

Posted in another thread about High School Sweethearts that had a plan... no babies until they marry and buy a home... first in their families to college... at 25 they bought a home in San Leandro... she is RN and his is a Police Officer...

NYC is a difficult job market for professions, including health workers.

It can generally be said that NYC attracts the best people in each profession. People want to be in NYC and many don't wish to leave. For professional jobs, you are always competing with a stubborn market full of high achievers.

For the nursing profession, due to the job competition, NYC would likely be less money than Philadelphia in terms of median income. It is for my profession. Acknowledging that the article doesn't state where in PA this man lives. It's a large state.

NYC's mid-level health provider classrooms are absolutely packed with women from the five boroughs, who are graduating every semester, and most of whom wish to stay in NYC at any cost. I've worked in NYC with them as they've finished their training, and know first hand.
