The article mentions that the growth has been most rapid in Pleasanton, Dublin, and San Ramon. That is primarily because those cities are closer to the Silicon Valley and have had major building booms. The article mentions that Danville's Asian population has grown but at a slower pace. Places further North such as Lafayette are still very White with a handful of assimilated Asians.

Many Asians prefer new houses so Dublin and San Ramon have more of that with good schools.

Uh, the growth is happening because those cities are building housing. Danville and LaMoRinda towns don't want growth, which is why there's not a ton of construction. It's not rocket science, and race/ethnicity has little to do with it.

Sonja Trauss who is a YIMBY(pro-growth) advocate suggested that the city of Lafayette was racist for opposing new development. Most of the people who live there are liberal so I think it's more class-ism if anything but it's an interesting topic. Rich White Liberals generally want to have it both ways.

The thing about Dublin is that it is the most pro-growth city in the Bay Area but they are following the Southern CA sprawl model.

It seem as if the border of San Ramon and Dublin is some kind of invisible wall for demographics but it will be interesting to see what will happen when all the wealthy White Baby Boomers retire and see their homes.

Another issue is recent Chinese immigrants are superstitious about trees over their homes. Lamorinda, Alamo, and Danville and heavily wooded. What is so awful about these new housing developments in San Ramon and Dublin is they refuse to plant any mature trees.
