I’m here and so far I see less homeless people then I had fear. But there are some near Union Square.

If those numbers are correct it's pretty crazy how San Fran allows such a small group of people to wreck the city for everyone else

I did see some homeless people begging but no feces, no people in tent. I’m back already, only went up for two days, I was near Union Square and China town, not tenderloin. Did see one homeless person in front of I-Out-Burger and he was berating a lot of Korean tourists.

Thanks for posting an objective view on this. When I said the same thing that you did I was accused of lying because I'm a "bleeding heart liberal" or a "SJW"

I didn’t go everywhere, just Union Square and the cable car, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf.

Union Square typically has a bunch of homeless hanging around the Powell Street Station nearby the cable car turn-around, and then on a few street corners north (usually Geary), as well as along the mall. Head West down from the cable car and 5th st onward is littered with them. I know this because my office used to be around there. I rarely go to the Wharf so I don't know what the homelessness is like over there, but there's usually a handful of them along Embarcadero st. Chinatown doesn't really have many homeless from my observation, with exception to Portsmouth Square.

That said, tourists have a tendency to have their head in the clouds or a phone. Not to mention it's been rainy lately and many might be tucked under overpasses for now.

It may have been the rain but this tourist didn’t have her head in the cloud. I was watching the street for feces and needles. I saw some homeless people begging but no feces. That’s my point.
