There should be porta-potties and hand-washing stations on every block of every city.
Not in the middle of the side walk and not at the Bart station elevators/escalators.

They can go live in the forest and dig a hole and cover it back up as campers do when they need to use the bathroom outside.

I can just see the porta pottie becoming one huge cesspool nightmare. Most homeless need to be locked up or institutionalized where they can get the help they need.

They set up portapotties in skid row but had to remove them a few months later. People were shooting up in them and hookers were turning tricks. They became a biohazard very fast.

Still believe a Govt sponsored "All You Can Eat" Free Opiate program would eventually clear up the problem. Just send out the body wagon every morning.

Default Give them a home

The solution to San Francisco's homeless problem is to simply give the homeless a home. Once they have a permanent place to sleep and a toilet to use then it becomes much easier to tackle the other problems they have such as mental health issues and addiction.

Until this happens cleaning the city will be a exasrterbating and fruitless enterprise.

Other countries have done a much better job then us in fixing this problem:

Its a case study in good intentions leading to bad results. If you enact methods to saddle others to foot the bill for room and board, plus laws to protect this behavior, this is the result.

Free homes in the Bay Area are a simple solution? It would be impossible to supply free housing to all who want/need it there.

The city of SF calculates the number of homeless it be about 7,500 people.

A large apartment high rise can house thousands of people in a single building. Impossible it is not.
