Use prisoners to work simple jobs for the city to help pay for their room and board. Another simple fix to combat prison costs. And as many people like to say, it doesnt have to make money for it to be worth it. Getting these people off the streets improves the community. I’d only run for president, mayor is too low of a position. Plus I’d rather live in DC than SF, lol.

Cool idea bro. Now, for your next trick: tell us how you’d force that labor if the prisoners just told you to stick your work where the shine don’t shine.

You do know there are reasons why convicts aren’t already working on the streets, right?

Yep- great idea bmw --convict work crews going every day right here in CA
They do work and know it's part of their sentence. Libs like tulemutt that don't leave their room don't see them - anyone that is on a CA freeway has.

Vagrants would only earning their keep - a prospect that liberals might fight all the way to the scouts. Once the current "homeless " are sobered up and healthy many would love to have a chance to be trained and work - might have to start at the bottom and prove themselves
Great idea- that will probably happen!l
Lots of helpful laws plus a relevant crime history will get lots off the street !

Yes TC. There are inmates picking up trash and fighting forest fires and more. Volunteer programs populated by people who want shortened sentences. (About 40% of those fighting fires are violent offenders, for example, with long sentences.) And here we are talking about homeless drug addicts with no community addresses or connections. Know what happens when you take them out on the streets to pick up litter? Think they might just walk away ... because they can just assimilate back into the homeless camps and not be tracked down easily? Think many of them will volunteer to begin with? They have no home. No food. Jail sentences for drug use are short, misdemeanor sentences. They are fine sitting them out with a bed and meals and medical care including methadone until their few days or weeks are up and they can go back to the streets.

Speaking of not getting out much ...

So funny you think they care. So funny you think there aren’t lots of drugs in the jails. So funny you don’t realize they get drugs as part of their free medical care when incarcerated. So funny you think the length of sentences for trespassing are more than days, if any time at all.

It's funny to you of course - that's all you have now.
They will be in facilities soon- they don't have to care if they don't want to.
You also said that Donald Trump would never be president- never.
You owe me for giving you a chance to type a couple more of your numbnutsty posts
Heck you owe everyone

Well is wasting millions of dollars really doing anything, Tulemutt? I just see the encampments moving from sidewalk to sidewalk, never actually disappearing. That's why I'm in favor of trying something different.
