What would you say a reasonable salary for a single person is / should be in this area?
Not an over-the-top spender or anything like that. I am just interested in living comfortably enough and not worry about not being able to pay bills. :/ (rent, car payments, utilities and groceries are main expenses).
Thoughts???

Thanks!

Assuming you have a college degree, I would not live in Silicon Valley for less than 6 figures. I am not exaggerating. $100,000 bare minimum! It is not worth it otherwise. Even at $100,000, you will have to have roommates.

For perspective, MBA grads who entered the tech industry in Silicon Valley in 2013 had a median salary of $165,000 to start, including bonuses, while the figure rose to $290,000 for those going into finance. Cost of living has spiraled out of control over the past 5 years, so expect those numbers to be higher now.

well... that's insane.
If these are the numbers back in 2013, what does it look like now?!
Is it the same case in SF?! (or maybe better / worse...)

These were numbers for MBA grads, so overall averages were lower. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the overall numbers have crept up to this range. SF is usually pretty similar but slightly lower for these types of stats. SF is a popular bedroom community for younger Silicon Valley tech workers, but its economy is more diversified than the valley itself.

I see. So then how do the 5 figures salary-makers make it there?!

These were numbers for Stanford MBA grads. While Stanford is not a Target school in finance it's MBA graduates have similar earnings
