The thread about home ownership in Richmond vs. renting in Berkeley had me thinking, what cities/neighborhoods in the Bay Area are still largely home to the middle and working classes?

Antioch, Pittsburg, and Concord all come to mind for East Bay, although Pittsburg & Antioch have a ton of lower class as well.

I hope this does not derail this thread but:
It's interesting how the general consensus is that Oakland is not considered a middle or working class city.
Rent and housing prices are just too expensive

I think that's because Oakland fluctuates between being extremely rich, and a complete slum. There's few places you could call in between in terms of Oakland.

There’s lots of section 8 everywhere in the Bay Area & California in general. If you go to those towns, you’ll notice a ton of construction type workers everywhere.
