I'm currently talking to few companies in San Francisco SoMa district and I'm just researching on where to move and how much would be the rent for a decent 1 bedroom apartment.

My wife and I currently lives in Koreatown in Los Angeles, commute to Downtown is like 15-30 mins via car or public transportation depending on traffic.

We are paying around $2250 per month for a 900 square 1 bedroom top floor of a 6th story building built in 2007, and have around 400+ apartments. It's pretty decent and newly renovated with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer in unit, etc. Amenities in this building are swimming pool, grilling area, and a nice gym and some lounges. Decent neighborhood. Diversed people and close to different establishments: grocery store, Target, pharmacy, restaurants, etc. Also close to few bus stops and a subway stop.

Not sure where to look and how much should be our budget. I prefer to be 30 mins away from my work either by car or by public transportation. Preferably similar apartment that we have as I described above.

Thank you!

I'd recommend downtown Oakland. Same type of new 1 bed will cost $3-3,500. Some new buildings near BART and the transbay bus that goes to SOMA. BART would be quicker at 15 minutes vs. 35 minutes. Several thousand units will be coming online in next year. Not sure what price point but the high rises will probably be really expensive! SF will cost more.

900 sqr is large for a 1 bed. That'll probably be $3500-3800 in SF near SOMA, add $250-350 per car for parking

I’m sensing a troll, people. Craigslist... same as you’d do in LA if not trolling. Talking to companies, all in SOMA btw, isn’t the same as “I just got a job offer”.

Why don't you ask the companies you interviewed with that question instead of asking us? Isn't this something you should research before you apply for a job up there? For a "millionaire" you don't sound very prepared.
