Country Club Vista is an upscale development, but it has another side to it too since it borders North Richmond.. this article sums it up, and the troubles with Richmond generally, quite well. It's not so much an issue of crime as it is an unnerving kind of enforced social division.

RICHMOND / Neighbors at odds over casino plan / Proposal pits poor community against new subdivision

Hercules to San Francisco is BAD news. On a good day, you're looking at an hour and a half. On a bad day, it can take you that long just to get out of San Francisco onto the bridge in the evening, and then you still have to deal with the Eastshore and Highway 4. Some days you'll want to park in El Cerrito and take BART just because it would be faster.

Default Richmond Country Club Vista

Are you talking about the East Bay Richmond? Those homes are in the high $700,000 range. Everything in California is expensive and about to be foreclosed on here in the East Bay. Countrywide has over 6,500 houses up for foreclosure. One of the best bets though is to purchase a home through one of the auction companies, 1) WilliamsAuction.com and the 2) Hudson and Marshall.com. Good luck!

Yes East Bay Richmond, off of Hilltop or Richmond Parkway with the view of the golfcourse. Saw some houses hear that are bank owned very cheap..People say Richmond is not a great area but this place seemed nice. People walking there dogs, playing in the park...Trying to decide if we should go for it..
