That's why I said this is more relevant for a nationwide MW hike, that democrats seem to want (in order to buy votes). Did you even read my post?

I read what you said, and the article indicated that the kiosks will be in all McDonald's nationwide by 2020, that means it will happen WITH or WITHOUT minimum wage increases.

True, as I also said, it was happening regardless. But the pushes for a MW increase is being used as a reason (or excuse) to push it at this point vs waiting until later to make this move. A smart business sees trends and addresses them before they're a problem. I can see the argument on going either direction, but to survive in this climate you have to constantly reinvent yourself. The interesting part will be if regular (small business) restaurants start to encorporate kiosks.

So the article is wrong? If we all agree to be good to corporations and keep the minimum wage at $7.25 forever then McDonald's will promise us they won't automate?

Please. What employers dislike most about business is .............. employees. The vagaries of managing “human resources” are a p.i.t.a. Certain businesses know that human contact makes money in their specialties, given the right worker personalities. But for the most part, any opportunity to rid business of its #1 liability and expense is welcomed aggressively.

Perfect that you used McDonald’s as an example earlier. Prime example of taxpayer’s subsidizing millionaire businesses. Pay wages so low that employees also need welfare to survive. And who pays that welfare? While who gets rich?

Ever hear of Horn & Hardart? Look it up. Automated restaurants were the entrepreneur’s dream 116 years ago. Now the tech is finally ready for a commanding position in fast food.

Huh? I said automation was happening regardless, but this was an excuse to do it sooner. Or at least play it off that way. I'm not sure what's unclear.

There's nothing unclear at all about what you said. But you know the routine here...feign ignorance or twist things with semantics to keep the argument going. Alliance, you should know by now this forum is not about finding common ground or actually having a discussion. It's more about arguing for pages upon pages, and rationality has nothing to do with it. Most of these posts could stop after a few comments, but the thought process is that you'll eventually get tired of arguing and leave, and then they'll say "I guess I showed him".
