Hi everyone -

Have recently switched to commuting from the Walnut Creek BART station to downtown SF. Considering doing the leg on the WC end via bike for exercise and greater flexibility. However, worried that bike parking is crowded.

I see here (https://www.bart.gov/guide/bikes) that the WC station has 72 on demand bike lockers. Anyone have any idea how quickly these fill up on weekday mornings?

Many thanks

The actual lockers are a bit hard to come by. You have to call BART to reserve them. That said, WC is relatively safe (well, compared to the city) in terms of theft so a decent set of locks at the regular rack is probably suffuicient. I can't remember if the rack is inside the station or not, which obviously makes a difference.

Thanks for the answer! I'll check out the situation with the reservations and scout out the racks next time I'm at the station.

They should have the bikelink lockers. These are the so called on-demand ones. You need toget the card first though. It is available at many bike shops. and online. Also some parking garages in SF.

What jade said. Order a card at https://www.bikelink.org/, the lockers are first-come first-serve.
