When deciding if a Ferrari is overrated do you compare it to a Hyundai and a Civic? Or do you compare it to an Austin Martin DB 9 and Audi R8?

I guess the question is how those two cities got included in the conversation and why they continued to stay there.

We are talking about whether a place is overrated or not. I don't think you understand what that means. A town of 300 people in Idaho can be underrated while a city of 20 million can be overrated and vice versa. It has nothing to do with economic output or what headquarters are located there lol.

For example, many people think Los Angeles is one of America's most overrated cities because people see Hollywood as Celebrity mansions, beautiful beaches, glamour and glitz, everyone is rich, etc. When they get to Hollywood, it's very tacky and touristy and has homeless people and sex shops. The beach is an hour drive from Downtown. Most of Los Angeles doesn't look like Beverly Hills or Laguna Beach.

While a less known city or a city that people don't have much opinion on is easier to seem underrated because there aren't all these expectations before arriving.

In the case of San Francisco, it's in a lot of movies and it always shows the nicest streets, everything clean, blue clear skies, no homeless people, people dressed as if it's Southern California, etc. And then when they get there, they see litter on the streets, tons of homeless, fog, freezing wind, etc. Many people not all but many find it overrated, even the chamber of commerce pleaded with the city many times to clean it up because hotels are reporting a high number of complaints from their guests.

That's pretty disgusting! The major or the CDC should call for a public health emergency in SF. Just imagine the germs being spread just from walking around that cesspool city.

Or maybe we should get real about heroin addiction and realize that rehabs and lectures about abstinence are not doing a darned thing. Suboxone should be free and readily prescribed to heroin addicts. It allows them to become functional, productive members of society. Instead it's hard to even find a physician who can prescribe it because it's controlled by the DEA and Doctors need a DATA waiver to prescribe it. It's a heck of a lot easier to get heroin than it is suboxone and that's just a tragedy

Maybe you should read the article. Direct quote from it:

Quote:
Crisis intervention teams have also stepped up their efforts to provide addicts with the drug buprenorphine, a narcotic to help reduce a person's addiction to heroin and other opioids.
And if you don't know what that is

Quote:
Buprenorphine, sold under the brand name Subutex, among others, is an opioid used to treat opioid addiction, acute pain, and chronic pain.
They are already doing that.
But IMHO, treating one drug addiction with another drug is stupid but worth a try I guess.

No, they are not already "doing that", the article states that they "stepped up their efforts to provide addicts with the drug buprenorphine", that's just dandy but as long as the DEA limits how many patients can be treated by a Doctor with DEA certification to prescribe Suboxone that "stepping up" could take years. And yes, substituting one drug for another does work, at least in the case of suboxone. Heroin addiction creates not only a psychological desire for the drug, it is also physically addicting, addicts who can't get heroin and go into withdrawals can die as a result, so their whole life revolves around getting enough dope to avoid withdrawals. Opioid addiction is a lifelong battle, most addicts relapse numerous times. NA meetings don't do squat and neither does praying.
