Sure - even though SF Public Library won the public library of the year award. SFGov isn't exactly terrible, we just have a major homeless problem that really no municipality can solve on their own. This requires state and federal resources that have been lacking. Luckily, SF is wealthy enough to at least mitigate some of it. Just think if SF had San Jose or Oakland's tax base, the issue will likely be worse.

Respect for public places. I've seen many play music without headphones on BART for 10-15 minutes at a time on a crowded train, and no one says a thing. That wouldn't happen on the NY Subway or even the T in Boston.

Of course there are other US cites that are walkable and much cleaner and healthier than the scene you find in SF.

This US is a big place...I highly recommend exploring other cities if you can. You will be amazed at all the other great cities out there that are clean, walkable and have great entertainment options.

This is such BS. People do the exact same thing all over urban places in America served by mass transit- I’ve seen it with my own eyes without even trying. In fact, the only places I HAVENT seen rude/inconsiderate behavior like this have been in Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, etc)

NYC isn’t any cleaner than SF and it has a major garbage/rat problem, and Boston isn’t perfect either. Chicago is probably the cleanest major dense/urban city in the US, but I’m just talking about the Loop where all the tourists are.

SF has plenty of problems- especially visible homeless/mentally unstable folks- but a lot of people are straight up delusional for thinking it’s got all these uniquely horrid issues that don’t exist anywhere else. Y’all need to travel more.

You won't find healthier according to Wallethub. We have the list posted at work.....Sf is the #1 healthiest city in the U.S in 2019....Seattle is #2 & San Diego is #3. It has lots to do with lifestyle IMO...........outdoor activities, all kinds of walking trails, fresh fish, mediterranean diets, wine..........

Nah. I grew up in NC/VA, but I've lived in CA longer than anywhere else.

People all over the place say y'all, I've heard it all my life and I'm in NC. I even hear it from Northerners who've just arrived, and they tell me they use it in NJ, NY, etc. I guess it depends on the person. I rarely speak it but I use the word on social media sometimes.

Haters gonna hate. Seems like a great deal of it is reserved for California, especially by former residents. I notice it more here on CD than Reddit, for instance.
