I am considering moving to Sausalito. Does anyone have experience of daily commuting with the ferry? Is it a hassle or ok? How much time should I expect it to take in total with boarding, unloading etc. I was also thinking of taking a bicycle with me daily.

Thanks for the link although I had been there before. I was hoping to

Default Sausalito Ferry

I used to take the ferry into the city from Sausalito and found that it was sometimes the highlight of my day. It has to be the best commute in the world. It's a half hour trip in one of the most scenic parts of the country. In the mornings I used to sip coffee and read the paper. One one occasion I saw whales surfacing near the boat. That was rare but I was always amazed at the beauty of the surroundings. On the way home in the evening it was a completely different vibe with people lining up at the bar and informal wine clubs sitting around. Of course you can choose to zone out with the headphones on but either way it's a great experience. When friends visit town i send them on the ferry and it goes to the Ferry Building in SF where there are great restaurants and a farmer's market. There's a bus from sausalito to the city but i always preferred the ferry. Hope that helps and if you have any other questions on relocating to Sausalito you can visit my website at Marin Home Sale.
