To make money, you're a "protected" minority, or you have certain lifestyles, then sure the Bay Area is nice.

How different are they Oldest daughter has 2 kids or her own and 5 grand kids: one daughter has no kid and no pets, she and her hubby are wonderful and treat us like gold; our son is divorced but gets along with his X fantastically: He has 3 grown kids and our foster daughter and her wife live in Portland. Now, as for how great or not so great the bay ares is: I always love these studies because they are as good as the day they are published, regardless as to where they are. Our little region of the USA makes these lists every year or so, but then are removed by some other sturdy.

One think the bay area does not have is the "Dodgers" so they can't be among the top.

I dislike the O'Malley family enough that I wouldn't go to a game at Dodger Stadium until after they sold the team.

Plus I'm a near lifelong Giants fan (my parents took me to all of the 1962 World Series games in San Francisco, but I was too little to understand what was really going on) and a 'since they moved to Oakland' A's fan.

After the SF Giant fan Bryan Stowe beating at Dodger Stadium, as a Giants fan, I don't know if I'd ever go back to Dodger Stadium. If the Dodgers played the Astros again or the A's again in the World Series I might.

I did get to throw a ball around though once with Ron Cey (my best friend's neighbor was his cousin).

The best place to live in the world is where you are happy!
You you you personally, not a magazine poll or vote by numbers.
Your vote your personal poll is the only one that is valid.
If you are happy in Idaho that’s the best place to live in the world!
If you are happy in San Francisco that’s the best! Etc etc etc

I love the bay area minus the traffic, taxes and high COL. I do miss it out there.
