I know and I was not referring to the OP's kids when I stated that since moving here I see lots of adult kids who can't afford to purchase a house. Most live in houses like the OP's where the house was already family owned and passed down to them.

Hi,
Most people might not be able to tell but English is my third language.
We have been here a long time so most people are blind to it.
My Canadian wife makes our kids “first generation “.
Our culture “passes the flag” when it comes to family matters.
It makes us stronger.
If my kids can live at cost to better themselves I am good with that.
Andy

The "please use it inside" comment makes me think the problem isn't the weed, it's the smoke that's bothering the neighbors.

If you are not a weed smoker the smell of that shat can really bother you. I went through months where people would smoke outside my apartment window. Smell seeped into my place every time.

So now that it's legal, can I grow it in my front yard next to my orange tree?

I am not an attorney, but as I understand the law, in California, it is legal to grow up to six plants where you live, provided they are out of sight and locked up. Certain cities can prohibit outdoor growing, but not indoor growing. You may also harvest all the weed you grow for personal use, but are not allowed to transport more than an ounce at a time.

So no, you cant grow it in your front yard. Your backyard may be okay, though, depending...

How ever I do have my two 30 plus years old kids that live in one of our houses.
It’s a very nice house in a nice area.
Today I read a letter that from the city that the kids live in.
It said “while marijuana is legal but we would prefer that you keep it inside”.
People actually made a complaint that they saw sprouts on a tray that my kids grew from looking over a tall fence
Odd as it is I am actually shocked.
These are good kids.
Yes they smoke and and yes that isn’t the best thing.
These aren’t bad kids they make huge money and are very well wself sufficient.
I am just in awe.
Over all I think it’s a good thing that this was brought to my attention.
Their asses are just about to be reamed for not being descret.
I haven’t reamed them out yet but that is coming soon.
Don’t need no city problems.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
Andy
Well, I don't expect you would have any city problems other than letters nicely requesting the plants be kept inside, as they say what the kids are doing is legal - so, there can be no legal action against what they're doing.

So, if you want to get along with the neighbors and the city, just have the kids keep the pot inside or where it can't be seen. Easy peasy.

That way the city won't be tempted to find anything else wrong with the property they can bug you about to try and make you comply with their "request" about the pot.
