What are you even talking about? I lived in SOMA until I bought my house. I have no beef with people who choose to live in the city, but people like you are ignorant to the rest of the Bay Area. Oh yeah, Oakland is a huge cesspool.

I have never said anything even remotely close to that - but you sure did.

I think I know why cowboy thinks Oakland is a cesspool. 34.5% 28.0% 16.8%........One of these numbers (Demographics) is a bit too high for his "tastes".

You actually quoted likealady in your post; I never said that. In fact, the only thing I’ve referenced is I’m a Giants fan over the Oakland A’s. I love Oracle Park. I’m in SF, and it’s a common rivalry here.

lol a common rivalry, huh?

You sound like a pretty recent transplant. Where did you move here from?

Falling in love with the city is Step 1 of the evolution of a transplant. Next you'll venture out of your comfort zone and find different, potentially more intriguing neighborhoods of the road less traveled.

People will probably give you more of a break around here when you start exhibiting more signs of that evolution.

Give me a break in what, exactly? I’ve lived in SF for 15 years (minus two years in NYC and a very brief stint in Atlanta). In addition, I grew up in the Bay Area (outside of the City) so I know it as well as I know baseball (basketball, soccer, football, too - lol). Giants/A’s are a common rivalry, as any two teams (of same sport) are when they are competing for fans in the same area (whether you want to acknowledge it or not). If you prefer, you can make it an AL issue vs. NL issue. It’s okay, really - it’s baseball! That said, I have a lot of memories here; and I’ve bought/sold my share of homes in the Bay Area (most have actually been outside of SF) per the thread. That you want to force-feed me something about Oakland I never said - (nor agree with) doesn’t change the fact I never said it nor does it change the fact I grew up here.

I think that's cool that you told us a bit about yourself. There used to be a guy on this forum back in the day named Mr. Fantastic that was from LA but would talk some serious trash on Oakland every chance he got, so people can get a little peeved.

I love SF too, but I do like to show my appreciation for other cities in the Bay too. I think people get annoyed by those who can't get out of their SF bubble because they sound like they just moved here and are ripping on people that have spent many years, if not their entire lives. It's good to know you've been here a while (and admittedly, you sound a lot more pleasant than Mr. Fantastic) at least.

So, my two favorite restaurants in SF are hole-in-the-walls: I'd go with Club Waziema on Davisadero and Lahore Karahi in the TL. Do you have favorite cuisine over on the sunny side of the bay (not quizzing you. just hopefully trying to find peace on the forum, haha)?
