The juxtaposition of this and the soaring local homeless population is really sad. This gilded age like decadence next to such poverty reminds me of Brazil quite frankly.

The poverty is fake in some ways. There are tons of ways to get rid of homeless but the city refuses to do anything truly beneficial because they use homeless as cash cows. They're also useful for guilt tripping rich people.

Seriously scratching my head on this one???

Why do they need so much space? Why take away that many dwellings for other people?

It's just excessive, and I'm saying this an Angeleno who is used to opulence and brash displays of excess.

To me, I would rather that they came down here to So Cal and built their complex out in Calabassas, Montecito, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Hidden Hills, etc., where there is available land.

Or, even better, just buy the existing Palo Alto home and renovate it to your needs while living relatively modestly.

Now, due to a desire to showboat and be greedy, there is less housing available in a region that is in dire need of that very thing!

Next thing you know, they'll be installing electrified fences and high walls around these buildings.

Why? What's the real point? Why isn't 50 million enough?

Unfortunately San Francisco is going in that polarized direction. A city with an overclass of millionaires an an underclass of homeless people and off-the-boat immigrants living in slum-like conditions, with nothing in the middle.

How are the homeless cash cows?

Do you think they sit at the City Hall and say to each other "Let's import homeless people to guilt-trip the rich mwahahahahah" as they caress white cats with their prosthetic hands?
