If you like cookie cutter 1960s and 1970s built suburban housing with nothing much to see around except one big mass of hills after slaving away in your SV job, then sure I would say it can be happy.

I lived in Fremont 40 years ago, when I moved into my first apartment! I can even see my unit in the photo on the apt website too...how funny! I liked the city then and it still seems fine to me now but I only visit a few times a year.

Fremont has great Afghan food. We used to cross the Bay just for that.
