And, there we have it, folks. Always examine the "news" source, before taking nonsensical headlines seriously. So many "sources" on these forums are heavily agenda-driven. And thanks to silverkris for doing his part to at least try to bring the thread back to topic.

California's "domestic migration" counts U.S. residents moving out of the state, & U.S. residents from other states moving into an area. Scroll down to the 3rd chart, and read the last paragraph below it. The dark Blue bars below the zero line shows the Millions of Californians that have left the state since 1992:

https://www.ppic.org/blog/california...lation-growth/

This article also shows massive Cali resident outflows, & large international immigration:

https://lao.ca.gov/laoecontax/article/detail/265

California doesn't have an exodus of humans, but it IS having an exodus of Californians...especially Whites.

6.1M Californians have left from 2010 to 2020, & the trend is increasing. That is 16%+ in just 10 years:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...-time-n1266740

So, 1 in 6 Californians left the state in the last 10 years, & the outbound flow is quickening.

An exodus is a "mass departure of people", so is 1 in 6 a mass departure? Compared to other states, Cali's domestic migration trend is not favorable.

White Cali residents are leaving in large numbers, & they are being replaced by international immigrants...this is reflected in the San Mateo enrollment. This began long before Covid.
There is no excuse for an area of such immense wealth. Why isn't this being addressed more?

It does when taking into account the massive decline of a certain population.

This isn't that complicated. The wealthy residents of this area are being displaced by even wealthier replacements, in this case, they are educated tech employees who tend to be disproportionately foreign immigrants. Not sure what you're advocating for. This is just capitalism at work.

Are you implying that Whites are being impoverished in the Bay Area?

That is an extreme example liberal capitalism, MLK's social values meets Reagan's economic values. More socialism would mean confiscating the wealth of the ultra wealthy while a more rightwing policy would maintain the White populations.

"Pan-Enclavism is the growing trend among many minority and immigrant communities and these well-off White communities will have to decide if they want to pursue enclavism for themselves and as a birthright for their descendants—with local based urbanist solutions geared towards that model—or open their communities to all regardless of economic, social, or ethnic background. As the many YIMBY twitter handles say: “this area for all”, a universalist mentality of ending exclusivity in housing."

California NIMBY Cities must pursue Enclave Status or embrace the inevitable YIMBY Future:

"White Californians are in a unique position in that they are both, especially harmed by, but also the most invested in the late 20th Century California paradigm that is NIMBY but also against enclavism and freedom of association. There is a White divide by age and class but even the most affluent White areas are impacted by population decline and a dearth of social capital."

It really is a hybrid of 60s Civil Rights ideals but with hypercompetitive capitalism. Who even supports that?
