I had to drive up to San Ramon today. I soon appreciated the weather I'd left in the south bay.

San Francisco set a record today - 97 degrees!!!

I think it was hotter there than it was here in the San Fernando Valley. It was only 96 degrees today in Woodland Hills, which is usually our hot spot.

It supposedly got over 100 in Palo Alto today... I wore a sundress for the first time since I moved here! (except on vacation, of course). Dare I dream that I won't need heat tomorrow morning? I'm so happy.

It was hot. Seriously, I don't remember anything like this. News said it hit 97, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went over 100. It sure felt like it. It's still really warm right now at 10:00 pm, so much so that you can go outside in a t shirt no problem. That's not something you can normally do, and it is pretty nice. Damn, I'm going to the beach tomorrow. The ice-cold water will be niiiice now.

It's supposed to hit the 90's friday and Saturday too, and then "cool" off to the 70's and 80's for the next week.

The thing that just flabbergasted me was how hot it stayed Wednesday night going into Thursday morning. The low was officially 73 here in Santa Rosa (normal low this time of year is 44), but at 7:45 am yesterday my car thermometer was already indicating 85.

It was also surprisingly windy late Wednesday night with really low humidity, making me feel like I was in Las Vegas or even Death Valley! I'm cautiously optimistic that the hottest weather is behind us for the time being.

Dang! We just moved to Jersey from Morgan Hill. I so don't miss those 100+ days. When we lived in SF, I can only remember ONE time when it was so hot, my hubby trudged down to Walgreens at 10pm to get a fan. It was so hot even at that time of night.
Hopefully, it will get better for ya!

It's 57 and rainy in the Philly area.

97 degrees in SF is like 150 degrees anywhere else as the heat gets trapped unless you live near the water. it must be a bit unbearable...I remember 80 felt too hot.

another thing perhaps....

the earthquake is coming.

this is what happened in '89.

freaky hot weather in the spring, summer and fall.

let's hope the 'boiling hot' trend ends.
