I'm sure there answer is no but thought I would ask anyways. I was wondering if there are any type of IT jobs in and around the Concord area that don't require a degree. I don't really have any experience. I am really good with computers though.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "I am really good with computers"? Can you describe your skill set?

By the IT, I am assuming that you are interested in finding out all opportunities in the high-tech industry as opposed to a position within an IT department in a company (in which would likely be in a support role, such as manning a help desk, etc.) - is this correct?

This area has loads of skilled IT people flooding in from all over the country and the world. Without a degree or experience to prove what you've got going on, it will be tough.

10 or 12 years ago, anyone with a pulse who could keep an instance of Windows from crashing for 30 minutes was worth $90K and if they had heard of UNIX, $120K. Those days are gone. Employers want verifiable skills.

It will be fairly easy for you to find entry-level IT work if you have skills, college degree not required. There are tons of smaller companies in particular looking for cheap IT help that don't really need anyone terribly skilled as long as they are willing to learn. Look on craigslist.org for jobs and you'll find something.

In general you'll find that experience outweighs college degrees in the IT world. Also helpful are: not being a ******** and being competent, two skills in short supply.
