My family just moved to the East Bay and we are from a tiny town in AR. The one thing I was most surprised about was the friendliness of the people. Seems the South doesn't have a corner on that market! We live in Concord and travel to Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill frequently and absolutely love the kid friendly ammenities the cities have to offer. My biggest shock was the cost of groceries, which is about 40% more than what I was used to paying.
