Hi, We have two very small children and will be moving from a city that is ridiculously family friendly -- 2 great children's museums, a zoo, a dozen indoor play parks and pools, restaurants/coffee shops with play rooms, even movie theaters with fabulous childcare, the list goes on and on and on...all within a 15 minute drive. Lamorinda or Danville seem to be the two places jumping out at us as we look at a relocation to be closer to my husband's office. But I am sooooo nervous about being stuck with little kids and nothing to do. What is there to do and how far/how much drama is there to get to it?

Any help is appreciated!

Wow! Sounds like wherever you are living is ideal for kids! Theater with childcare? Restaurants with playrooms? Brilliant ideas!

Here are some things around Lamorinda...

Lafayette Resevoir is a great place for the kids- paved trail around a lake and a playground
Lindsay Wildlife Museum
Briones Park- huge nature reserve/regional park
Tilden Park (in Berkeley)- carousel, small farm, museum, train rides, playground etc
I think there's a skate park in Lafayette- not 100% sure though.
Children's Fairyland/zoo just on the other side of the Caldecott tunnel
There's always the local Parks and Recreation dept for classes/activities for the kids.
I'm sure there's more that I don't know of yet.

These places aren't far away from the areas you are looking and parking etc is easy. The "drama" depends on your kids! (Mine give me plenty of that.)
