I majored in finance and economics in England and came to San Francisco for an internship program. I'd like to talk to more ppl in financial field and I believe it is the way to be more acknowledged about the industry. Networking is so important, isn't it?!

Anyone please tell me which pubs or places those busy finance ppl hang out? Cheers~~~

SF isn't really a post-work drinks town, esp for financial industry...and many of SF's financiers don't work in City; many work in offices 35mis South in SiliconValley (and many w/kids also live down in SV, so only rarely visit SF)...

Hedge funds in SF (and BeverlyHills) work NYC-based hours, so arrive office <<6AM and leave in early PM...

Be sure you dress like everyone else, where the same accesories as everyone else, and drive the same kind of car as everyone else.

I'm not sure, but you'll just have to go out there and see for yourself. Just be friendly, and sooner or later you'll find your way around

The people who can help you in your career start work at 5:00 am and head home to Danville or Tiburon at 2:00 pm, so you won't find them in San Francisco bars at all. San Francisco's finance industry is on New York time, so they really don't participate in the kind of after-work drinking rituals common in other cities.
