I might have to move to some other city within the Bay Area for work after I graduate, so I was wondering which of those have a fun nightlife, jazz scene, salsa clubs, good Asian restaurants, etc.

Thanks.

Downtown San Jose has a nightlife with many restaurants, clubs, etc.

Downtown San Jose: Silicon Valley's City Center | Night Life

You're not going to find much in many of the suburban towns in the Bay Area.

Downtown Walnut Creek is also a good suburb to check out, although it's kind of white bread and yuppie but it has lots of nightlife, culture, and arts and a great downtown setting.

Rockridge and some other nice parts of Oakland are pretty happening to and I would look around that area too.

I don't know about LOTS of stuff, but the following towns have nice, active downtown areas (in my opinion)... Mountain View, Saratoga, Los Gatos, San Carlos, San Mateo, Berkeley, Sausalito (more for scenery & shopping), San Jose - especially around Santana Row, and ummmmmm, Redwood City?

Castro St. certainly covers all the Asian food bases.

I love downtown Mountain View. Downtown San Jose has plenty to do also.

I like the vibe of Los Gatos also.

You obviously were and I would be, too. However, it does have its target demographic. Like most small towns, it can provide something but it won't be very diverse in its offerings.
