I currently live in Millbrae and work in Palo Alto. Traffic is not bad on 280 and usually takes me 30 min each way. I am thinking about taking a job in The City. Pacific Heights to be exact. How is traffic going from Millbrae into SF on 101N at 8am and coming back at 430pm?

It will be a little heavier and slower than you're used to, and the city streets can be frustrating, but you'll probably find the biggest problem is getting to 101 on Millbrae Avenue. If you're close to a 280 onramp, use it instead and then take 380 to cut across to 101 northbound. If you're at the north end of the city, take El Camino up to 380 East.
