If you could live anywhere on or near water in San Francisco, where would it be and why?

Alameda cause I like the large homes(on Fernside Bl) they have across the estuary from Oakland. Harbor Bay Island also has really nice homes that face the city and bay. Plus its close to everything.

Sausalito cause well, its Sausalito.

Foster City has nice waterfront lagoon properties too.

There are also the Keys in Marin. Nice but very expensive.

In S.F. proper, Sea Cliff probably has the best views, Marina the best overall lifestyle. South Beach is nice but I wouldn't like the ballpark noise.

Sea Cliff ... specifically, Camino Del Mar.

Marina District, although I wouldn't want to live there during the Big One.

North of Union is actually Cow Hollow or the Marina, depending on how far north you go, at least according to the Pacific Heights Resident's association:

Seacliff is the true Beverley Hills of San Francisco. However, I prefer the Marina District. Pacific Heights would be my second choice...there is a HUGE difference between Pacific Heights and Lower Pacific Heights, keep that in mind.

Thanks, all. I'm not even sure where the Marina District or Seacliff are, but I'll find them and check them out...
